MR H. S. VALENTINE AT GORE.

(Feom Oue Own Coebespondknt.) Gore, March 17. Mr Valentine, member for Waikaia, addressed a meeting of his constituents in the Town Hall, Gore, to-night. Mr Beattie (mayor) occupied the chair. Notwithstanding the weather being unpropitious there was a good' attendance. _ Mr Valentine dwelt at some length ' on political matters, and strongly urged the formation of a Farmers' League. He also favoured the appointment of a Minister of Agriculture, wnereby the interests of the farming community would receive the attention they demanded. The proceedings were orderly throughout, and after a large number of questions had been answered Mr Thomas Green proposed a hearty vote of thanks and confidence in Mr Valentine as their representative, which was seconded by Mr M'Gregor. and carried with great enthusiasm. The customary vote of thanks to the chairman brought the proceedings to a close.
