WEEKLY MARKET REPORT.
Moritzson and Hopkin, Millers, Grain, Produce, and OommissiooyAgents, Manse street, Dunedin, report as follows:— WHOLESALE BEPORT. Wheat : Market is without animation, and millers oontinue to purchase sparingly, as it is the general impression that prices will still recede. We quote best Northern Tuscans, 4s Id to 4s 3d; other sorts, 3s 9d to 3s lid ; Southern Tuscans (good quality), Hi lid to 4s : red straw and velvets, 3s 6d to 3s Bd— for really good samples, 3s 9d. Fowls' Wheat : In very good demand. Really good whole shipping parcels, 3s 4d to 3s sd ; inferior sorts, 2s 6d to 3s. Barley c Market is very fiat and maltsters are holding back. Prices are almost nominal. Best brewers' lots, 3s 8d to 4s ; milling, 3s to 3s 6d; feed, 2s to 2s 6d. Oats i Market has improved by Id per bushel, and as there has been plenty freight offering, all coming forward were easily placed at for prime milling, 2s 7£d to 2s 8d ; bright plump feed, 3s 7d to 2s 7sd; off colour, 2s 6d to 2s 6Jd ; inferior sorts, 2s sd. We sold another line of long Tartars at 3s, and have orders for 10,000 sacks prime feed from 2a 7d to 2s 7sd, off trucks. Flour: Timara roller, £11 f.0.b.; Oamaru, £10 f.0.b.; Southern stone and town brands, £9 10s— 50's are 15s on above prices. Oatmeal : Long ton la bulk, £13 10s ; 25's, £13 ; 7's and 14's, £15. Bran, £4 f.o.b. Sharps, £5 f.o.b. Potatoes : Prime Oamaru Derwents, £4 5s per ton. Kidneys are now in demand, but prices are hardly fixed. Pigs : Well fed, well butchered, not too fat, up to 1801b, 4d to 4}d ; others, 3d to 3|d. Chaff : Well cut heavy riddled oaten sheaf, £3 15s to £4; medium, £3 6s to £3 10s, Onions; £13. Turnips, £1 per ton. Carrots, £2— we have orclers for a few trucks. Straw (oaten and wheaten), 40s. Hay (oaten), 60s to 655. Clover and ryegrass hay, 60s to 655. Butter: The market is very sluggish, and very little is doing at lOd (kegs extra), at which we have placed some lines. Principal buyers will not pay above 9d, and this is only speculative. Eggs very scarce. Honey j Best extracted, 4M to 4Jd (kegs extra). Oheese : Best factory, Cjd; loaves, 6jd (cases extra); Akaroa (large), fid ; loaves, 5Jd. Hams and bacon • Hams, in cloth, 9d ; flitches and rolls, 6}d. Grass seeds : Ryegrass without animation. Farmers' loti, 2s 9d to 3s 3d ; maohine dressed, 3s 3d to 3s 9d ; Poverty Bay, 4s to 4s 6d; Italian ryegrass, 5s per bushel; cocksfoot, 2|d to 3Jd. We sold a line at the latter figure in Dunedin. j
