S., Herioc, writes:— l have a mare which is troubled with itch. She will scratch on fences, gates, and in the stable till the hair comes off in places, sometimes breaking the akin. What remedy should I apply ? If your horse is in high condition, administer a 5-dr ball of aloes, and in a few days follow it up with fconic medicine and ' laxative food, Rub the affected parts with olive oil and let it remain for a few hours, then wash it off with aoft soap and warm water to remove the scales or scabs, then apply the following liniment to the diseased patches : 21b lard, 21b olive oil, £lb sublimed sulphur, loz carbolic acid, carbonate of potash, mixed with a gentle heat. Allow it to remain on the skin for two or three dayß, then wash ifc off with eoap and water, and repeat the dressing if necessary.
