KURI BUSH.
The crops are looking well all over this district. The late warm weather has given them a good start, with the general result that oats will be quite up to, if not; above, the average yield. There are some good wheat crops, too, here and there in the district. Mr H. Palmer has a crop of wheat near the coast which will be the boes yield hereabouts. Turnips, though late, are everywhere good. Feed for stock is also abundant, as the grass has grown splendidly since New Year. Conckbt and Dance. — A concert and dance was held in the school on Friday last. The entertainment Was in aid of the school prize fund, and both the concert and the dance afterwards Were well patronised. The chief performers at the concert were Mesdames Cheyne (Mbsgiel) and Polville (Kuri), Misses Crawford (Green Island), Gilkinson (Dunedin), and Eobertsou (Roslyn), Messrs Brown (Henley), Sinclair (Olakia), and I ander (Kuri). Mr W. Quill (Kuri) acted as accompanist with the violin, besides supplying the music for the dance. The concert and dance were both quite a success.
