THE NEW zealand EXHIBITION.
Melbourne, February 11. ]J£r Twopeny, the Executive Commissioner of the New Zealand Exhibition, returns to 3tfew Zealand by the Wairarapa> His visit to Australia has been satisfactory so far as regards obtaining British and Victorian exhibits, but be failed to obtain the Victorian loan collection of. pictures. Mr Deakin has promised that Victoria will be officially represented. Mr Playford, Premier of-Soufch Australia> is doubtful if that oolony will be officially represented, but if not he will subsidise local committees. Nothing is possible with regard to the representation of New South Wales till the elections are over. It is probable that the Victorian vessels of. war will be present afc the opening ceremony, and also the principal Victorian Ministers, with a view of promoting a federal feeling in New Zealand. Mr Joubert's appointment as manager has given satisfaction to tbe British and Victorian exhibitors. In consequence of the large number of foreign exhibits the building will have to be enlarged.
