LETTERS FROM LITTLE POLKS.

Dear Dot,—l have about 40 birds' eggs, including two albatross', two penguin's, one ostrich's, one seagull's, one seabawk's, one swamp turkey's, tame pigeons', &o. I got the penguin's at the Antipodes. I went a tripj in the G.S. Stella to the Snares, Auckland, Campbell, Antipodes, and Bounty Islands. My papa went two trips for the purpose of getting photos of eealions and penguins. I only went the second trip. The Bounty Isles are the best for penguin eggs, but we couldn't land at all, it being too rough. Would "A Young Collector" and "Another Collector" kindly send their names to John Douoau.. Esk street, Invercargill, January 26. Dear Dot,—This has been a beautiful* summer. Igo to school, and I have two brothers and two sisters. We had a great lot of fruit this year, but not many flowers.. Our new school is being built; I will tell you about it when I write again. Mamma took us all to Gore on Saturday. It was a beautiful day, and we enjoyed our trip very much.—Yours truly, Ellen Mulquin (aged 12 years). Longridge, January 28. Dear Dot,—We are back to school again. My brothers and I went to Weston to spend the holidays with my uncle and aunt and cousins. We enjoyed ourselves very much, and we went to picnics at Clifton Falls on New Year's Day and Christmas Day. My little brother George has a fox terrier, and I have four white and blue pigeons. My brother got a lot of birds' eggs up at uncle's place.—Yours truly, Tot. Mailor street, Mornington, January 28. Dear Dot,—As I read all the little folks' letters I thought I would like to write too. I go to school every day, I have passed the First and Second Standards. I got two firstclass certificates for not missing one day for two years. I have got five sisters and three brothers. One sister is married.
