The Buffalo Courier i-n January 9 printed a doubtful f-tory concerning tbe Lomion Times beirg hoaxed hy a mechanic of ibai city named Blacklcck. He wrote to the publishers saying that ho bad access to documentary evidence which would be of service in the Parnell investigations. They sent out a trusted agent to interview the correspondent", only to find the stoiy a fable. Charles Guck, a 14-year-old boy, entered a dynamite magazine at Mount Pleasant, Ohio, on December 14, smoking a cigar. The magazine contained 210 kegs of powder and 10 cases of djnamite. Guck was blown into atoms, several persons were badly hurt, and nearly every house within a mile of the scene was torn to pieces. Less than 80 yards from the magazine was 80 tons of dynamite, which did not explode.
