THE EXHIBITION.
MEETING OF DIRECTORS. A meeting of the directors of the New Zea« 1 land Exhibition 1889-90 was held on the 20bh inst. It was reported that £10,463 worth of shares had been taken up. Amongst the new subscribers are New Zealand Insurance Company, £50; T. Meelf (Oamaru),. £25; M. Sinclair's employes, £10; C. Ziele, £10; A. J. Bartb, J. Sparrow, L. O. Beal, jun., and F. M'Gratb, £5 ; Chinese resi-dents-Kwong Sing Wong, Kip Fong Tie, Sew Hoy, and Kum Yoon Lee, £2o each; Wong Hong, •Tone You, £5 each ; Tone Duck, Chine Sing, and Kwan Lee, £3 each ; Duck Lee, Sew Yee, , Wing Lee, Wah Kee, and* Mcc 'Wah, £2 ; and Tong You, Num Lee* and Yee Yick Kei, smgla , shares each. The following additional appointments were made to the sub-committees :•— Building and Gardens— Messrs J. R. Sinclair I and A. Thomson; Early History, Maori, and . South Seas-Messrs W. H. Churton and H. ; Williams ; Workmen's Court— Messrs W. Lees ; and 1 D. Piukerton (delegates from the Operative i Bootmakers' Union); Ceremonial, &c.— Mr V. , Pyke,M.H.R.; Pastoral and Agricultural— Mr A. C. Kimbell. Mr R. Hay's report (printed elsewhere) upon the available sites was received. , It was unanimously resolved—" That the besfc b thanks of the directors be convoyed to Mr Hay for the generous services he has rendered free ! At a meeting of shareholders, held in the 1 evening, it was decided to increase the capital to b £15,000. 7 — M "* =
