Owing to a bungle over the yacht race, a special meeting will be required before the prize is awarded. It is understood the Era, of Sydney, will be declared the winner. . November 24.
The unofficial result of the big yacht race yesterday is given as follows : — Iduna, 1 ; Era, 2 ; Volunteer, 3 ; Janet, 4 ; Wanderer, 6; and Taniwha, ti. Owing, however, to some bungling, the race will have to be resailed on Monday. The Auckland yacht Akarana won tho second-class race.
November 26.
At the regatta on Saturday the Auckland yacht Akiirana was put out of the race through her halyards carrying away. The yacht Era, of Sydney, won the yacht race.
Sydney, November 23
The Waihora, from Wellington, arrived today. New Zealanders resident in Sydney met on the wharf and welcomed the Canterbury crew, who. were passengers. The oarsmen were afterwards entertained at the Town Hall by the deputy-mayor and aldermen, who welcomed them to Sydney.
November 24.
The intercolonial eight-oared outrigger race between Victoria and New South Wales was rowed on the Parramatta river this afternoon, when the Victorian crew wonwith the greatest ease by 12 lengths. Time, 16niin S7sec.
New Yoek, November 26.
A sculling race took place to-day on the Potomac river between O'Connor and Teemer for £200 a side. The distance was three miles, and O'Connor won easily by 10 lengths. Time, 20min 35seo. O'Connor will shortly leave for Australia to row Searle for the championship of the world. Teemer will in all probability accompany him.
