Waipori Mining Notes.
(FbOM OUE OWN COBRESPONDENT,)
It is understood that the claim and % lease holders on the O.P.Q. line of reef have agreed to accept the offer made to them through their agent, Captain Pearse, at present in London. The offer is identical in amount with the price asked, viz., £30,000; only instead of getting half in cash and half in paid-up shares, the owners will receive £10,000 in cash and scrip to the value of £20,000. A few among them were inclined to hold out for the original terms, but subsequently sided with the majority. It speaks well lor the lona Jid t es of the promoters and their'cqnfldence'm the property they offer to the public that they should regard shajres as equivalent in this case to cash. Yet the sain
mentioned does nob seem large for a reef that can be traced for nearly a mile in length, and which is at the present time yielding a steady leturn to the various small, parties at work on it. These three parties are each on stone, and Ritchie's party is also crushing, as they have the battery engaged at present ; and the ease with which the stone is got out enables them, notwithstanding thesmallness of the party, to carry on both operations at the same time. They are at present stoning out, the lode in stopes and tunnel averaging 7ffc in width. The average weekly yield of gold is given at 14oz.
