Farmers requiring machines should nof; -purchase until they have seen the Buckeye. There Are machines in the market this season which have never been tried in the colony ex* cept in one or two exhibition trials by experts in favourable crops, and farmers should not buy them without substantial .proof of their ability to do all that is claimed for them. One of these machines is practically untried in the country in which it was built, and the manufacturers have not even sent it to Aus* tralia this season, apparently preferring to make New Zealand its experimeuting ground. The annexed testimonials are 'part of a .series ,of 93 received since March last, which will all be published in these columns, and buyers are requested to secure copies of the Buckeye pamphlet at the forthcoming A. and P. Show. Nothing less than a 60in elevator binder will cope witn the tall crops grown ia the Oamaru and Taieri districts, and theso have been specially imported, and are now ou view afc the agencies. 170 ACRES IN NINE DAYS. Ashley Downs, Waiwera, April 23, 1888* Messrs. Begg and Wilkinson, Dear Sirs,— The Buckeye Elevator Binder I purchased from you last season gave me every satisfaction, I cut 170 acres with her in nine days, and all those who have seen her work say they bave not seen any other machine in tho district equal to her. She is very easily handled and light on the horses. I can fold up the Binder and go through an opening lift wide and have her in working order again in five minutes.— Yours truly, I William Milleb. FOUR YEARS CONSTANT USE. North Taieri, Otago, 3rd April 1888. I Gents,— l. have much pleasure in informj ing you that my Light Buckeye Elevator Binder has given me every satisfaction. I have cut with it right through the past four seasons, and may say it is still in first-class order. As regards simplicity of construction, lightness of draught, and ease of handling, there is little further to be desired, and I can conscientiously recommend it to any farmer wishing to purchase. It is very suitable for this district, but in view oi^ our very tall crops you would do well to bring out a GOia elevator. — Yours truly, * JAiIES HAGGEN. Greenvale, Kelso, 3rd April 1888. Gents,— The Buckeye Light-Folding Elevator Binder I got from you has cut about 160 acres this season, some of which was ou very steep land. It is a first-olass binder, and does its work as well as any machine I have ever seen. It is very light of draught, and convenient for transit, requiring no travelling carriage, and I oertainly recommend it to anyone wishing to buy.— Yours truly,, Alexander M'Kay: A SPLENDID JOB. Spring Terrace, Strath-Taieri, 31st March 1888. Qeßlt9,—lQ eßl t9,—l have cut 300 acres with the Light Buckeye Elevator Binder, some of the crop being only one foot long. I find your machine is particularly adapted for such crops, owing to the closeness she can ba worked to the ground ; whilst in the opposite direction she made a splendid job in some heavy six feet oat crop. I may also state that I did not require a single duplicate, and all that will be necessary next season will be to renew some of the brass bushes.— Yours truly, James Harrison. TWO HORSES WORK IT. Lovell'B Flat, Otago, April 2, 1888. Gents,— The Light-Folding Elevator Binder has given me every satisfaction. I finished my harvest of ,150 acres without the least hitch, and your working arrangement being so simple my driver, who had no previous experience whatsoever, had no trouble in making a neat, clean job. , Two Twnes worked it for days at a time on moderately level ground, without any exertion, cutting at the rate of an acre yer hour, I cut some pretty steep sidelings with it without any danger of capsizing, and, in shorty I think the Buckeye leaves nothing to be desired in harvesting.Yours truly, Aethub CALDEB. A full stock of duplicate parts will be carried at Oamaru, Dunedin, Gore, Lawrencfij, and Invercargill this season, and an expert will be at hand at any of the looal agencies throughout the harvest. Mr Percival will also examine and adjust every Buckeye Reaper and Binder during-the winter season free or cost to purchasers. Remember that the Buckeye is guaranteed to do work at leas 6 equal to any Binder in tbe world. N.Z. LOAN & MERCANTILE AGENC? COMPANY, Oamaeu; BEGG & WILKINSON, Castle steeet, Dunbdin.
