Melbourne Centennial Drunghts Tournament.
An additional attraction for draughts pUjers to witness the Melbourne Exhibition will In.' the tournaments to decide tlio championship of Australasia, and also one specially confined to those pl.iyera bora ia the colonies. ' There is eveiy probability of New Zealand being well represented, hu Mr Hi hitt BoBwell, of Gliriscclnuch. Mr John P. Bell, of Dnnedin, nnd Mr William M'llwrick, of lnvercargill, fully intend taking part in these interesting contests, should nothing unforeseen prevent them. These three players have made the best score against Mr Wyllie, the champion, of auy in the c >lonies, bo it ia to be hoped that they will be able to visit Melbourne. As Mr Bell is the only co'onial player who has won two games from Mr Wyllie he ought to stand well in the major tourney, and his admirers here fancy that there is a strong probability of his winning the colonial born championship. Messrs Boswell and M'llwrick are well knovrn experts, so there is every prospect of our representatives st curIng a fair share of the valuable prizes to b3 compoted for. Play in these tourneys will commence early in November next.
