HIGH SCHOOL COMMISSIONERS.

A long meeting of the Commissioners of the Otago Boys' and Girls' High Schools was held on Tuesday, and attended by Messrs J.P. Maitland (chairman), James Walker Bain, and James Green. John Johnston e, lessee of sections 3 and 4, block I, Awamoko, asked the commissioners to join with him and the adjacent sebblers in taking steps to protect their lands from floods. — It was resolved to obtain further information regarding the cost of the work. FAIUFAX. The following tenders were accepted for leases of sections in the township of Fairfax for a period of 14 years :— Section IQ, block XII, 11. Oasserly, 10s per annum ; section 7, block IV, JMalochy Moloney, 10s per annum. WAIKAIA. The upset rent- of runs 327 and 327b, to be offered for sale on the 22rd inst., was fixed at l|d per acre. WENDONSIDE SETTLEMENT. A telegram was received from the Undersecretary for Crown Lands explaining that the delay iv getting out proclamations for opening blocks VII and VIII was in consequeuce of the great pressure of sessional printing.
