HINDON.

August 6. — Mining is getting brisk in this district, and I believe that it is likely to continue. I had a long talk with Mr Malcolm Miller, manager for Messrs Begg and Co. They have 12 men working at present, and in the course of a week there will be 18 more, aa they have called tenders for three drivra — Tucker Chilly, Nos. J, 2, and 3. The reef runs 3ft thick. I am glad to state the manager haa no doubt whatever that it will pay, and In the course of three months he expects to be crushing from 500 to 1000 tone per week. I hnve been told another company is likely to itart very soon. We can Ecarcely cross any gully without seeing tomebodv looking for gold, and I hope the new company will proaper.
