WHEEL NOTES BY DEMON.

N. U. T. S.

-By the way, Taukane Ihiraaira, otherwise known to fame as " The Smiler," is a bicyclist. His stalwart form was to be seen in " clothes peg" attitude running down Princes street astride of a bike the other day ; his face was wreathed in smiles as usual.

-The reception the new hon. sec. of the D. C C. got on Saturday night was a rouser. He came into the meeting late, and was immediately seized by about 15 stalwart arms, and shouldered while the captain, announced to him the fact of his election.

When he recovered and realised the situation, he would have objected, but the meeting hastily dissolved, and its component parts assured him that he could do nothing but accept, as they were not going to form the meeting again to take his resignation. For the first time in the history of the club two benedicts are in office. The club is getting quite ancient and staid now. The club punster says that it is time it stayed so. On dit that "Uncle Fred," the genial host of the White Horse at Milton, that wellknown cyclists' haven, is going in for cycling, and that the " White Horse " is to abdicate in favour of the " wheels " some suggest that " Cyclists' Arms" would be a more suitable name, others think that "Cyclists' legs" would be more appropriate.
