WINTON.

July 28.— Farming operations in this district are very well forward. A. groat many farmers have made good headway with their ploughing. Some early sown wheat in one or two places is looking remarkably well. During the last month we have had very good winter weather, and it has been the mean? of drying up the ground, and enabling farmers to plough in places where last winter the land was covered with water. The effects of the drain plough are very much appreciated on the farma where it has been used, and the swamp ground drained is now Bmiling under a heavy coat of good grass. Lambing has commenced here, and should we have any rough weather it is feared a number of the lambs will succumb.
