Directors were appointed, and Bite chosen near the Tapanni railway station. The shares are reported to have gone off satisfactorily up to the present time. Bntektainmknt.— Abene.fifcwas given to Mr D. Thoma9 in the Athenreum Hall on Friday last by the scholars of the local s chool, assisted by their parents andfnen<is. The attendance was very good, and an excellent programme was provided. The children performed the musical skt-tch " Kinderspiel " in a mosfc creditable manner. The benejiciare has been teaching the scholars gratuitously for some time past ; hence the reason of the benefit. The vocal after part by adtilts was also much appreciated, some excellent items being given. Weather — A snowstorm occurred here laat evening, and theground fit present has a covering of about 3inofsnow. Judging by appearances I should say that there is more to came, and we shall probably bave a good fall within a day or two.
