The new number of the "Royol Agricultural Sooiety's Journal" contains the following papers : — " The Permanent Wheat and Barley Experiments in Stackyard Field, Woburn," by Sir John Lawes ; " The Conditions of Wheatgrowing in India," by George Watt, M.D. ; " The Indian Wheat Trade," by W. E. Bear ; " Modern Improvements in Cornmilling Machinery, by W. P. Baker ; " The Practical Value of Dung, as com* pared with Artificial Manure," by R, Valentine ; " Recent Experience in Laying Down Land to Grass," by Jatpei A. Caird ; " Wool and its Uses," by J. W. Turner ; "Recent Improvements in Gider and Perry Making," by D. R. Chapman ; and a number of reports on the proceedings of the society, its shows, trials of implements, and experiments. The number is a very good one, as may be imagined from this list of contents. Unfortunately it costs 6s (John Murray, Albemarle street, London), aad Is 83 postage to New Zealand.
