A BEAUTIFUL CHANGE.
Spring sowing was not finished, till May had come, and after that we had dry and cold weather up to Wednesday last, when muchneeded rain fell, followed by more rain and a much higher temperature. The chances of the crops making rapid progress, therefore, are greatly improved. Wheat is thin in many districts, especially in light soils. The shances are for a harvest below average, everything being very late ; but it is too early to make estimates, and it may happen that on exceptionally favourable summer is in store for us, which will bring the crops on with unexpected rapidity.
