LATE AGRICULTURAL.

The new flax Mill at Glenledi (Tokomairiro) will have three machines driven by a portable engine. The success attending the first year's operations of the Mataura Dairy Factory has (says the Ensign) fully justified the expectations of its promoters, and the outlet provided for milk by it has been very largely taken advantage of by the settlers of the district. Very favourable accounts continue to be received pf the manner in which the product of the factory is received by consumers, and these accounts are substautiated by the price which is willingly paid for it. The season will terminate about the end of the current month, and in anticipation of the closure, the supply of milk has dwindled down to 228 gal daily, at which point it stood on Saturday last. During the height of the season upwards of lOOOgal a day were received, and from indications already apparent the supply next season will b,e much larger. At a meeting of directors held last week it was -decided that a sample shipment pf cheese should be sent to Melbourne, Sydney; and Brisbane, half a ton to 1 each place, to test the markets. A motion by Messrs Reid and Eeir that the price of cheese .to 6h£.i:eholders be raised from 4d as at present to 5d per Jb. was lost on, the casting vote of the chairman. The Derbyshire farmers have fixed the price of milk for the current season at 15d per barn gallon of 17 pints. '
