CHAMPION STAKES.
Under the most favourable circumstances I fail to see that there will be more than 11 starters for the above rich stake, and that is proproviding for the Hon. J. White and Mr D. 8. Wallace each sending two representatives. The following may comprise the field : — Nelson, Abercorn, Carlyon, The Australian Peer, Dunlop, Niagara, Mentor, Enfilade, Whakawai, Moorhouse, and Marlborough ; and I think Enfilade, Nelson, and The Peer will occupy the places.
