REEFTON MINING NOTES.

(From Oue Own Correspondent.) Reefton, February 23.

Nil Desperandurn. — About 6in of stone came in ou the new level last night, and has since widened out to a foot. The stone is said to be payable. There has been some inquiry for shares to-day, the price being from 3s 6d to 4s. February 26.

The following are the battery returns for the past week : — Welcome, 6290z of amalgam from 86 tons of stone ; Keep-it-Dark, llitoz amalgam for the week.

February 23.

No. 2 South Keep-it-Dark.— The manager reached town this evening with the intelligence that the reef had been struck on the level. The lode has not been driven into, but a drill hole put in shows the stone to be solid. There in some inquiry for the shares this evening. Pandora.— Owing to the striking of the reef in the first tunnel or this and the No. 2 South Keep-it-Dark, there is some activity in these shares also to ; night, but the absence of any further particulars beyond those mentioned prevents much busiuess being done. Nil Desperandum.— The reef here is reported to have widened out to 3ft, and to show good gold. Shares are in consequence in active demand.

Business is very good in the share market, And quit ft number ol stooks are on the move.
