A scratch Carisbrook team of 10 cricketers proceeded to Milton on Tuesday and played a match with the local players, who were strengthened by the inclusion of Lynch and Garforth of Clutha. The Carisbrook team going to the wickets first were all disposed of for 69, the individual scores being :— E. Austin, 0 ; Izard, 2 ; Johnson, 4; R. Austin, 8 ; A. Y. Smith, 14; Stronach, 14; A. Cargill (not out), 15; Butlin, 0 ; Forrester, 1 ; D. Cargill, 5 ; extras, 6 ; total, 69. The Milton players responded with 38, the individual scores being:— M'Gill, 11; Lynch. 0; R Lockhart, 1 ; Baskett, 0; Garforth, 3; M'Laren, 1; D. Lockhart, 4; Golding, 0; Stewart, 11 ; Blair, 0 ; Darrick (not out) 0 ; extras, T;— total 38. On their second attempt, Carisbrook lost two wickets for 26 when play was stopped by the rain, of which E. Austin scored 11 (not out) ; Izard, 8 (not out) ; A. Cargill, 1 ; and D. Cargill, 6. For Milton, Baskett took mx wickets for 29, and M'Gill three for 22. For Carisbrook, Forrester secured five for 13, and Johnson four for 18.
