MOSGIEL BAND SPORTS.
The athletic sports which were held on the Taieri cricket ground, Mosgiel, on Monday, under the auspices of the Mosgiel Volunteer Band, were attended by about 200 persons. A good many entries were received for the different events, some of which were very well contested. The Mosgiel Band was present during the day, and played a number of selections at intervals. The proceedings were also enlivened somewhat by a piper, who discoursed what some people might regard as music on the bagpipes. The results of the various events are as follow :
