LAWRENCE.

Volunteers.— The return match between the Tuapeka Rifle Volunteers and the Dunedin Highland Rifles was fired on Boxing Day at; the Holyrood range, and resulted in a victory for the home team. The light was very variable, and a strong wind blowing across the range necessitated the men allowing about 3ft for windage at 300 yds, and from 15ft to 16ft at 500 yds. Ranges: 200, 300, and 500 yards ; seven shots at each range. The match was a very close one, and was very exciting towards the finish :—
