(Continued from page 27.) ENGLISH CRICKETERS IN AUSTRALIA. Sydney, November- 28. The match between Vernon's Eleven and Eleven of Sydney was continued to-day. The weather was fine and the play good, but
there was only v poor attendance of spectators. With a score of 28G to their credit for the loss of five wickets, tho Englishmen continued their first innings, and succeeded in putting together a total of 340 before all were disposed of. In addition to the individual scores already reported, Peel contributed 54, Newton 30, Vcrnon 3, Rawlin 4, Beaumont 2, and Aitewell (not out) 13. The local team, when
time was called, had scored 186 for two wickets, towards which M'Donnell contributed 112, Bannerman 8, Moses (not out) 47, Allen (nofc out) 17 ; extras 2.
November 29. The cricket match Vernon's team v. Eleven of Sydney was continued to-day, when Messrs Allen and Moses, the not-outs of the previous day, resumed their positions at the wickets. Allen added an additional 17 to his score and Moses
30 before being given out. At the close of the day's play the local team had lost nine wickets for 408 runs. The principal scores to-day were : Allen 34, Moses 77, Jones 65, Hudclelston 87, Turner 33. The match will be continued to-morrow. November 80. The cricket match Vernon's team v. Eleven of Sydney was concluded to-day. The home team continued their second innings, but; were unable to add any to the score of 408 made yesterday. The Englishmen then went in, but were all disposed of for 106 ; Sfcoddarfc (10), Poel (not out, 34), Eead (14), and Attcwell (17) being the principal scorers. Sydney thus won the match by one wicket and 40 runs.
