PORTOBELLO ROAD BOARD.
The ordinary moni hly meeting of the Portobello Road Board was held ou the 26th insfc. Present : Messrs J. Macandrew (chairman), W. Dickson, J. Gross, J. Seiton, and Q. Anderson. The abstraot of accounts for the year ending March last was laid before the board, and the clerk was instructed to advertise the holding of the annual and ratepayers' meeting for the next ordinary meeting day, at 3 o'clock. A letter was rectivedfrom the bank in re the finances, and it was decided that all works throughout the district be stopped at the end of next week. A letter from the Peninsula fioad Board was read in re Walker's road, declining to do anything in the matter, as the road was situated outside their boundaries. Letters in re election of member to reprpsent the district on the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board were received, and the chairman was appointed to act in the matter. Accounts to the amount of £95 12s 6d were passed. Notice of motion for next meeting was given that a toll be erected on the beach road.
