LAND BOARD.
The weekly meeting of the Land Board, held on Wednesday, was attended by Messrs J. P. Maitlaitd (ciiiei commissioner), Logan, Clark, Duncan, and Dallas. pjiMBKoKu, — R. M'L/ougall applied to purchase portion of Crown lauds adjoining block XLVII, Pembroke, planted by him as an orciiard, and Hanger Adair reported, recommending that the application be granted.— Approved, subject to survey regulations being complied with. Ku.v 51.— The Perpetual Trustees, on behalf of A. Wilson, applied to surrender grazing run 51, as the lessee was unablo to pay rent.— The application was granted. KbSiDKNCK Akea.— An application by Joseph Henley to purchase £ acre ot land held by him as a residence area was reconsidered by the board, toj;ethpr with a letter from D. Pinlayson, on behalr of T Aitken, Jas Cooper, and Jessie Cooper, objeefcin({ to the application being granted, as they had an extended claim of ono acre over the land. — It was resolved that the resolution passed on the sth inst. with reference to the. matter bo rescinded ior the
present. Oi'imt.— The District Laud Officer, Naseby, in repotting on au application by A. Alexander to have section 7, block 1, and section 7, block 11, Ophir, put up for sale, stated that lie saw no reason why the land should not be disposi d of.— lt was decided that the sections should be offered ior sale at the first convenient opportunity at the upset, price of £7 10s per acre. Forkeitujie of Lkase.— ,T. Drummy having failed to pay the rent due by him bofore September 17, the board was requested to take proceedings to recover possession of the land.— lt was reaolved that the lease be tor'cited, and that Llie ranger take possession of the land and make valuation of improvements.

Hun 103 a. —Mr A. B. Mann's application to purchase 12u acres of land of Hun 103 a was approved, subject to survey of roads, &c., being made. Twin Hill,— The district land officer, .Nasebj-, in returning application of Mr Simpson, on behalf of W. Leask, ior the grazing right on Crown lands £Oiith-\vest of seel km 31, block 11, Tiger Hill, recommended the land to be apened on perpetual lease. — It was resolved that the Government be recommended to open the land under the perpetual lease system.
East Gout,.— Mrs Mary ltoirdou asked that sections 2'i and 21, block XXV, East Gore township, be (foiiped, with the view of enabling her to purchase thi'm — Ii was resolved that the Government be recommended to group the sections as suggested. An application by John M'Carr to obtain section 6, block XXIV, East Gore, on dui'urre .-payments, was approved.
