The sale of trout-netting licenses by the Lake County Acclimatisation Society realised £84 2s 6d, as againut £84 last year. Waitati. — Messrs Carltonand Marshall fished this stream on the 20th, and had very fair sport, considering the very boisterous weather that prevailed. Mr Marshall secured 16, and Mr Carlton 15 fish, the heaviest weighing a little over lib.

Waiwera. — A party of Dunedin anglers paid a visit to the Waiwera and Kuriwao last week, but, owing to the very bad weather, they had but poor sport. Mr Ohisholm killed about 24 very nice fish in the Kuriwao in one day, and Mr Wilkie 17, and another gentleman who visited it a week previous killed in five days over 40 fish, several weighing over 21b. Mr D. Reid had also very fair sport on this stream, killing several very nice fish. Association Competition. — Tho Otago Anglers' Association held a competition for a silver medal (presented by Mr C. Hale, jeweller, Dunedin) ou Saturday the 22nd inst. This competition was restricted to members who had never won a prize, and the streams selected were the Silverstreara, Waitati, and Leith. Three entered, and the prize was carried off by Mr J. Ogg with a basket of 28 iish weighing 101b Boz. Mr D. Reid coming next with 14 fish.

Clinton. — The Clutha Society held a meeting on Tuesday, the 18fch of October, Mr J. Burt in the chair. It was agreed to carry on the work of the society for this season, and Messrs Wilkie and Chishlom, members ef the Otago Anglers' Association, who were present, agreed tooffer prizes forcoinpetffcion, Mr Wilkie's prize being a rod and Mr Chishlom's a silver medal. It is expected that every angler in the district will go in. I trust they will, as nothing helps to keep up the sport so much as a good healthy, anglers' club.
