RABBITSKIN MARKET REPORT.
Resishabdt, M'Donald and Co., manufacturers' agents, Bond street, report as follows :— The local auctioneers, by persisting in their excesilvp charges, have practically lost their rabbitskin connections, and being annoyed that we should have taken such a large share of the trade, are using every endeavour to dissuade consignors against us. However, we are in a free country, and all this opposition only tends to exert us to the uttermost. Prices are well maintained, a^d good average lots of winter greys are selling at 18£ dto lOd; selected thin pelted greys, 19d to 21d ; black and fawn winters, 12d; summers, 8d to lOd ; suckers and torn, 2dto6d. The above are free of all charges. In order to get oood prices, it is imperative that skins should be well got up. and that hawk torn or damaged of any kind should be packed by themselves, for it frequently spoils the sale of a lot where these are mixed through good skins. All consignments should be properly marked. We will publish list of our transactions next week.
