J. H. Kilgotjb, grain and produce broker, reports under date August 24 aa follows : — Wheat. — The market continues quiet, and price* are unaltered. I quote prime milling, 3s lOd to 4s 2a ; medium, 3s',Bd to 3s 9d; fowl feed, 3s 4dto3sßdaccording to quality. . Oats.— A few lots have changed hands this ween, but shippers' limits being still low, prices show no improvement. I quote bright short feed, Is 7sd to Is 8d ; milling, la B£d to Is 9d. Long Tartarian m for seed are saleable at 2s. . . Barley.— There is a fair demand for ™ al }j l " l *> quality at 3s lOd to 4s (bags extra) ; milling, 3s 3d W 3s 6d ; feed, 2s 6d to 2s 9d. , . Chaff .—Supplies have been rather more plentnu' this week, but prices so far have not been affecteo. Best oaten sheaf is saleable at £2 155 ; medium. *s 10 Potatoes.— The demand is still limited totocal:requirements, and supplies are pretty full. Soutnem Dements, "3os to 355-, Northerns, 37s 6d to »• Kidneys are wanted at £3 to £3 ss. , Grass Seed.— lnquiries are beginning to be maoe for ryegrass, but little business has as yet resuicw. Prices are 3s 6d to 4b for machine dressed, and a cv to 3s forfarmers' lots ; cocksfoot, 4£d to 4fd. Turnips.— l4s to 15s (quiet) ; carrots, 20s to inButter.— Salt in kegs is being sold at veryirregvu« prices— 4d to 6d perlb ; fresh, in mixed cases, tw w 7d. Eggß. — 9d per dozen.
