(Reuter's Telegrams.; London, August 17. The Antwerp wool sales opened to-day The tone of the market was quiet, and prices were Id lower than the closing rates of last auctions.
August 22. At the Antwerp sales Australian wools maintain the average prices obtained at last London auctions.

London, August 18. The Antwerp wool sales opened yesterday. Good quality River Plate wools have declined 5 centimes ; inferior sorts, 10 centimes. The Australian wools will be offered to-morrow.
August 20. There was a large attendance at the opening of the Antwerp sales on Wednesday. Prices declined to on the May sales. Helmuth Schwartee and Co. report on the prospects of the September sales in London that the market is dull and stocks light, and that probably prices will remain unchanged. The sales will open with 280,000 bales available for disposal, including 55,000 from the Cape.

Four thousand one hundred bales of Australian wool have been sold at the Antwerp sales at below the closing rates at the last London auctions.
