HORSE MARKET.

Messrs Weight, Stephenson, and Co. report as follows : — • For last Saturday's Bale our entries consisted of about 70 head, amongst which were two small drafts from the country of a mixed description, which sold readily at our quotations. The balance were chiefly dealers' lota, of which a fair proporbion changed hands. Privately, we advise having sold a really first-class hack at £29. There is a good demand for first-class young heavy draughts and horses adapted for the tramways and the Indian market, and all horses of these descriptions coming forward would find a ready sale at current rates. We quote firstclass young heavy draughts at from £22 to £27 ; medium, £12 to £15; first-class hacks and light harness horses, £15 to £20; medium, £8 to £12; light and inferior, £1 10s to £5.
