LAND BOARD.

An ordinary meeting of the Land Board, whioh was held on Wednesday, was attended by Messrs Maifcland (chief commissioner), Clark, Logan, M'Kenzie, Duncan, and Dallas. SWINBURNE, The Governor having agreed to section 1, block VI, and sections 2 and 3, block X, Swinburne district, being offered as a pastoral run, it was decided to offer them for lease for 10 years afc an upset rental of 3d per acre. The district land officer, Naseby, in returning Edward Qoyle's application to have section 10, blocft IV, Swinburne, thrown open under the deferredpayment system, suggested that that section should be cut up into five or six sections, having a frontage to main road, and sold under clause 97 of the Land Act..— Referred to chief surveyor to obtain leport from Mr Baron, district surveyor, Naseby. HAVELOCK. Mrs Harriet Bishop asked the board to consider her application to purchase or lease section 1, block X, Havelock, hitherto withheld for railway purposes.—Eeferred to JJanger Hughan to report. . upper hawea. Poolbarn, might be opened for perpetual leasing.— The Government to be reconunenaed to revoke proclamation opening section 4, block X, and section 5, block XI, for ajjirteultural leasing, and section 6, block XI, on I deterred-payment, and set apart for perpetual leasing. GLENKENICH. The Secretary of the Education Board applied for a few acres of section 44, block X y Glenkenich, as an extension of the school grounds. — The Governmentto be recommended to reserve an extension of school PASTORAL LICENSE* Donald M*Gibbon was declared the leisee of Rum 16, Wakatipu (8600 acres) for a term of 40 year* a£ the upset price of £7 10s per annum.
