SALE OF EDUCATION RESERVE LEASES.
Mr R. B. Martin, under' instructions from the School Commissioners of Otago, offered for sale at the Crown Lands Office on.the 23rd a number of pastoral and agricutearal leases ; some for five and/some for 10' years. The attendance? was good' and >the\ bidding spirited. -The following leases were sold .•%- i ' - Section 27, block VII, Wyndham, consisting of 185 a lr, leased to Neil M'Douald for *10 years at 6d per acre (upf et) per annum. , , Section 11,' block VII, iWendbri,.3o9a, leased to Mrs Bennett at Is per acre; Five years' lease. ' The upset was 6d. '' ',' "' Section 10, block VIII, Wendon, 244 a; leased to the Perpetual Trustees, as agent for Mr Henderson, for five years, at lOd per acre. Upset, 6d. 1 Section 1, block H, Wendonside, 230 a, leased to New Zealand' Loan and Mercantile Company, as agents, at 6d (upset) per acre. Section 9, block 11, Wendonside, 265 acres, at 6d per acre (upset), to New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Company, as agents. Section 9, block X, Wyndham, 774' acre'B,(seven years), toJDonald Fraser, at 7d per acre : upset, 6d. Section 34, block I, Ofcepopo, consisting of 19a 3r, was sold at the upset (4s per acre) to Alexander Gillie*. The valuation (£58 1 65) wa» added. Section 45, block 11, Otepopo, consisting of 15a 2r, was sold at the upset (4s per acre), with £33 15s valuation, to J. T. Donaldson. Sections 34, and 36, block I, and 12, block 11, with £94 10s for valuations, was knocked down to the New Zealand Australian Land Company at an annual rental of £12 12s 3d Section 2 of 20, block 11, Maungatua, consisting of 40 acres, was offered at 13a (upset) and realised 19s, Mr R. Robertson being the purchaser. Section.l 6, block I, Wendonside, 320 acres,wa3 sold at the upset (Is 6d per acre) to the Perpetual Trustees, for P. Maher. On account of the Board of Governors of the High Schools the following cash sales of sections in the township of Arden, Strath-Taieri, were effected : — Section. Block. Upset. Purchaser.
