London, June 14.
Evading the polios at Bodyke, County Clare, Michael Davitt held a meeting at Feakle on Sunday. At the close of the meeting sharp fighting ensued between the police and the mob, many of the latter being bludgeoned. The British and India Navigation Company's Jumna, from Brisbane to London, has arrived at Aden, and reports a fire haying broken out in the hold. It lasted three days, and the cargo is damaged.
Eight residents of Alsace are being tried by the German authorities on a charge of treason by intriguing with the French Commissioner, M. Schnaebell.
It is stated in England that Russia is placing steamers on the river Oxus, in Turkestan.
The North German Company have offered to establish a. line of steamers between Vancouver, Japan, and China for an annual subsidy of £6000.
