DUNEDIN PRODUCE MARKET.
J. H. Kilgoub, grain and produce broker, reports under date June 15 as follows: — Wheat.—There is nothing new to report. Arrivals have cot been large, but buyers are not eager, prices having gone beyond a limit that allows a margin for shipment to other ports, and millers having stocks sufficient to keep them going for some time to come. I quote best milling at 3s lOd to 4s; medium, 3s 8d to 3s 9d. Fowl feed is exceptionally scarce, and any lots of whole grain would, sell readily at 3s 6d; broken, 2s 8d to 3s Id. Oats.—Arrivals have been light, but there are large stocks in town, and prices having receded in the Melbourne and Sydney markets, there is not much business doing. I quote: Bright short feed, Is 7jd to Is 8d; milling. Is B£d ; ordinary feed. Is 6d to Is 7d; long Tartarians (for seed), Is lOd to Is lid. Barley.—Malting continues in fair demand at 3s lOd to 4s (bags extra); feed, 2s 6d; milling, 3s. Chaff is iv over-supply, and prices weaker. I quote 45s for best quality; inferior to medium, 30s to 35s per ton. Potatoes.—The market is still glutted, and prices same as quoted last week—viz., 30s to 35s for Derwents. Kidneys are wanted for seed at £3 ss. Butter.—Best fresh, in mixed cases, 7£d to 8d ; salt.in kegs, 7d, with a full supply. Eggs, Is lOd per dozen, and very scarce.
