London, Apnl 20. On the whole the wool sales which were resumed ou the 13th inst. have maintained a good average.'. The series will close on the 23rd, and up to date 203,518 bales have been catalogued as follows :— New Zealand, 37,297 ; New South Wales, 43,616; Queensland, 17,239; Victoria, 50,132 jiSonth Australia, 24,263 ; Western Australia, 4369; Tasmania, 3212; Cape of Good Hope, 23,390. The arrivals for the third series up to tb'e present are 53,988. The ' frozen-meat market is somewhat depressed^ in consequence partly of the mild weather,, and partly in consequence of large supplies' from New Zealand. The lonic, from Auckland, with 14,095 sheep, 10,378 lambs, and 117 pieces of beef, has cleared the sheep at 3|d to sd, sold 8600 lambs at 3£d to 7d, and cleared the beef at 3d to 4Jd. The Aoragni, from Lyttelton, with 12,378 sheep, 2117 lambs, and 206 pieq'es of beef, has cleared the sheep at 4§d to sd, sold 1300 lambs at 4Jd to 7d, and' all the beef at 3£d to 4|d. The Rimutaka, from Lyttelton, with 11,365 sheep, 5786 lambs, and 419 pieces of beef, 1 has sold 9000 sheep at 4d to sd, 3000 lambs a£ 3d to 7d, and 220 pieces of beef at 4§d to sd. This cargo is classed "irregular." The Coptic, from Wellington, with 25,493 sheep and 10,070 lambs, has sold 18,000 sheep at 4d to sd, j and 3500 lambs at 5d to 7d. The Elderslie, from Port Chalmers, with 27,420 sheep, is just placing her cargo on the market. The Tainui, from Lyttelton, has not yet broken bulk.
