London, May 27. Considerable sensation has been caused in Turkey by the discovery of a plot to depose the Sultan and place his nephew on the throne. The conspiracy was widespread amongst the high officials of State, but the authorities succeeded in frustrating the conspirators' plot, which is attributed mainly to Russian influence. '

Several of the Russians who- were acting with the participators and a large number .of Turkish, .officers have been arrested. Osman. Pasha ; and a number of prominent sheikhs and , palace favourites . have been banished for complicity in the plot. .
