Time, 3min 15sec. Prior to the decision of the above, which proved to be actual race, 10 runners were, weighed out, and duly ran over the course, with the result that is set forth below ; but in consequence of an objection lodged by Mr Robinson, on behalf of Mr T. Valentine, Postscript, and Nelly Farren, Middlethorpe and Bonaparte having dropped back last. On leaving the straight. Throne joined Vermilion, and the pair remained at; the head of affairs until entering the straight again, when they were beaten arid /gave way to Valentine and Postscript, who led until two distances from home^ where Middlethorpe came' through full of running, and cantered past the" post six lengths ahead of Valentine, Postscript being a bad third.
