MASONIC.
The annual meeting of the District Grand Lodge of Otago and Southland was held on the evening of the 18th in the Freemasons' Hall, Moray place, Dunedin. The lodges represented were: The Otago No. 884, Dunedin No. 932, Port Chalmers Marine No. 942, Hiram, Hercules, Palmerston, and Waikouaiti. After the despatch of the ordinary business, the report of the Board of Genef&l Purposes was read and adopted, together with that, of the auditors, to whom a vote of thanks " for their services was unanimously carried. Afterwards the R.W. District Grand Master invested the officers for the ensuing year in the following order : — Bro. D. Camerou, D.G.S-W. ; Bro. the Rev. W. Ronaldson, D.G. J.W. ; Bro. T. A. Peterkin, D.G. Registrar; Bro. C. de L. Graham, President Board of General Purposes; Bro. Sydney James, D.G. Secreliiry ; Bro. D. Leech, D.G.S.D. ; Bro. A. Westwood, D.G J.D.; Bro. J. E. M'Kelvey, D.S.D.C. ; Bro. J. M. Hunt, D.G. Superintendent of Works; Bro. H. J. Capes, Sword-bearer; Bro. H. J. Pullar, Pursuivant ; and Bro. H.W. Mayer, D.S. Tyler. The Boards of General Purposes and Benevolence were unanimously re-elected, and a deal of very interesting Masonic business was transacted. At its termination the R.W.D.G. Master closed the communication in the usual form. •
