I ' The two economical bills which Mr Ormond is promoting have been circulated. The Governor's Salary and Allowances Act Amendment Bill provides that after the coming into operation of the act the sum to be paid to the Governor as salary shall be £3500 instead of £5000; and the sum of £1500 shall be paid as, an allowance instead of the salary and allowances of his establishment and as an allowance in lieu of travelling expenses. The Parliamentary Honorarium and Privileges Act Amendment Bill stipulates that every member residing at a distance ' exceeding three miles from the General Assembly Buildings shall be given an allowance of £150 , for every session he attends; while every member residing within a distance of three miles shall be entitled to £100. For members of the Legislative Council the honorarium is fixed at £100 and £75 respectively.
