Fsb&uab? 7.—ln common with other parts of the colony we have experienced the hot, dry weather of. the past few weeks. About the beginning of last week, however, a change occurred; and: we have since had a sue* cession of squalls of wind and rain, and the weather does not appear) settled as yetl The rain will be very beneficial* to late grain crops, turnips, and grass, also increasing the supply of water for mining purposes'; which was. much wanted, as all the-creeks -were very low. Should there have been any ripe grain crops standing the high winds must have played sad havoc with them. As, however, harvest has been general for over a-fortnight—being a. month earlier than usual—l do/wot think much loss will he sustained in that direction.
