ANGLING.
(Contnued from page 27.)
Watee of Lbith.— The trout in this stream are having a rather rough time .of it, especially in that part of the river below the paper mill. This establishment as a wholesale fish destroyer iB ahead of anything I know of. During the past week some scores of big and little trout have succumbed to the poisonous water discharged into the stream as a result of the operations of the mill. Surely some means could be devised whereby water impregnated with poisonous chemicals could be disposed- of without running it into the stream, and thus undoing all the" good that the Acclimatisation Society has been doing for the angling fraternity of this city. Otaria. — Mr Geo. Munro has had another first-class day's fishing on this stream. Over 201b for one day's angling— not a bad take for this time of the year, considering the lowness of the "water and the unusually bright days we have had of late.
Pomahaka. — Mr J. Burt had a very good day's fishing on this stream on the 3rd. Eight fish from 61b to 21b each, all caught with the minnow.
