The Chief Commissioner asked the board to re»conHider the matter of dealing with run 20(ta. He suggested that, as the adjoining settlers will probably desire to increase their holdings, it is inexpedient to release the same for depasturing purposes. The Chief Commissioner explained that this was one of Mr Scobie Mackenzie's runs, lying to the south of Naseby. He (the Chief Commissioner) neglected to inform the board at a former meeting that some months ago Mr Mackenzie spoke to him about this run, and he said that when the board was dealing with this run the settler*in the neighbourhood desired to add their holdings, aud he thought it would be only right, at- all events, a portion or all of the land should bti withheld from leasing. — The Chief Commissioner was requested to communicate with the Government on the suhject.
