WAKATIPU MINING NOTES. (From Our Own Correspondent.)

1 Ahrow, January 1: With the New Year several important cW; are about to be made in many of the local me which, however, require time to take ehapai form, and are at present scarcely fit; subject either comment or report. ' 1 ' , Mr Fred Evans, of tbe Phoenix mine, re^ a fresh discovery of rich stone made on tx ning work for the New Year, in the lowest w ing level driven from the shaft.
