CLUTHA AND MATAU A. AND P. SOCIETY.

The amalgamation of the above societies has happily been effected), and for the future one large show of the various districts comprised in the above society will be held annually, doing away with the two shows held at Balclutha and Stirling. The annual meetings of the members of both societies were held at Balclutha on the 12th inst., when there was a very large representative attendance. Mr Wrn. Dallas (county chairman), was elected president; Mr Geo. H. Gilroy, vice-president; Mr S. J?raser (manager Colonial Bank), treasurer; and Mr H. S. Kennert, secretary. An energetic committee of 24 memberti and' 13 class stewards were also appointed. The show waa "fixed' to be held on Friday, 3rd December. ' A sub-oom-mittee was chosen to get the new ground put in order for next year's show. At a committee meeting held on Tuesday evening the secretary reported Laving collected about £10p in special prizes, which were at once allocated, and it was definitely resolved that the year's show wsb to take place at JWclotba,

From all appearances there is no doubt that the show this year wilt be one of the best ever held in the district.
