Krrsagt>, and Fagotin, 12 to 1 Tourterelle and Stromboli, 20 to 1 any other. After a couple of abortive attempts the flag fell to a straggling start;, Splendour, Kersage, Tabarka, Pau, and ludecis getting away badly. Tabarka and Kersage were left so far in the rear that they took no part in the race, but Pau quickly commenced to make up his lost ground. Bapeur was the first to show in advance, being followed by Fagotin, Providence next, with Pau prominent in the middle division, Jouteur, Vienna, and Indecis lying off. They ran with but little change for half the distance, but Amethyste and Jouteur then improved their ► positions and drew up to Pau, being immediately attended by Vienna and Daisy. Escarboucle, who was running well within himself in the rqiddle lot, crossed h,is legs when about half the distance, had been compassed and fell heavily, but his rider, Hopkins, fortunately escaped unhurt. Half a mile from home Sapeur was beaten, and Jouteur, passing Pau, took command, Lavandiere cqraing with a rush from the tear and going on second, with Pau and Amethyste the more prominent of the others. This order was maintained coming into the straight, when Jouteur drew away and won easily by a length, Lavandiere defeating Pau by a length and a-half for second place. Amethyste was fourth, a length behind Pan, Daisy and Vienna heading the beaten lot, Indeois and Splemleur bringing : up the rear. Value of the stakes, £1028. Time, 2min 36gsec. Here Sycomore showed signs of distress, and Gamin raced up to Jupin, whom he deprived of the lead at tho distance and won easily by a length and a-half ; six lengths divided second and third, while Sycomore was a bad fourth.
