Notwithstanding the near approach of the Metropolitan meeting and the arrival of a fair number of visitors, nothing of magnitude has been done in the betting market during the week. Disowned has been firmly detained at the head of Cup and Derby betting, and all the money offering about this horse has been taken up. Lochiel has hardened a little and Nelson, after being knocked about early in the week, has again reached 100 to 15 and finds backers. Ruby and Tasman have been backed for small amounts and are still in request at 100 to 9 each. Disowned is a firm favourite for the Derby, and his stable companions Torrent and Ruby are next m demand. Hardly a line has been ' written in connection with the Welcome Stakes, but Silvermark and Teredo have had some enquiries.
