WANGALOA.
October 30. — The weather is all that can be desired for farm work. The farmer's have finished sowing and are bu6y rolling. The crops and grass are both looking well. The former was late in springing, but it has got a good start now ; and should we have fine genial weather, there will soon be plenty of feed for stock. The lambing is progressing favourably, but ft would be rather risky to say what percentage there is likely to be at this early stage of the season. Fruit trees are looking well just now, and give promise of a good supply this season. Entertainment.— We had a visit from Mr James Blaney last Monday night with his magic lantern. The attendance was not very largo, but those present appeared to enjoy themselves very much, especially the younger portion of the audience.
School. — The Wangaloa school was exami -ed on the 20fch in6t. by Inspector Taylor. The percentage of passes appears, so far as I have heard, to have been very satisfactory. Library. — The library still continues to be appreciated. New works are being added from time to time. The selections made are as a rule of a satisfactory nature.
